Analysis of Common Faults of High Speed Centrifuge Motors

The use of high-speed centrifuges is now more and more convenient and more and more extensive. Almost every laboratory in various research institutes has a high-speed centrifuge. Think about millions of testing equipment, each department. If there is one, the maintenance cost of it will be high, which will inevitably lead to a certain amount of waste. When some large and expensive equipment is idle, there are still many research institutes that are unable to purchase and use these scientific devices due to lack of funds. This situation has also led to obstacles in research and development and innovation.

Analysis of common faults in high speed centrifuge motors:

1. After the high-speed centrifuge is energized, the motor will not turn: first check the power cord, plug and socket. If it is damaged, it should be replaced. If there is no problem, check whether the band switch or varistor is damaged or the cable is disconnected. If it is damaged or opened, replace the damaged component and re-weld the wire. If there is no problem, check whether the motor field coil is broken or open (internal). If the coil is broken, it can be re-welded. If the coil is internally broken, the coil can only be re-wound.

Second, the high-speed centrifuge motor speed does not reach the rated speed: first check the bearing, if the bearing is damaged, replace the bearing. If the bearing is short of oil or too much dirt, the bearing should be cleaned and greased. Check if there is any abnormality on the surface of the commutator or if the brush matches the surface of the commutator. If there is any abnormality on the surface of the commutator, if there is a layer of oxide, sand it with fine sandpaper. If the commutator does not match the brush, it should be adjusted to a good contact. If there is no such problem, check the rotor coil for short circuit. If it is, rewind the coil.

Third, the high-speed centrifuge vibration is severe, the noise is high: check whether there is an imbalance problem. The screw of the fixed machine is loose. If it is, tighten it. Inspect the bearing for damage or bending. Replace the bearing if available. Friction occurs when the machine cover is deformed or incorrectly positioned. If so, adjust it.

4. When the air is cold, the low speed gear of the high speed centrifuge cannot be started: the lubricating oil solidifies or the lubricating oil deteriorates and sticks. At the beginning, you can use your hand to help re-rotate after re-turning or cleaning.

High-speed centrifuges are widely used in production processes and are now widely used in laboratory equipment. Due to the use of DC variable frequency motors or DC brushless motors, the speed is generally adjustable and has a higher speed. High-speed centrifuges are widely used in clinical medicine, biochemistry, genetic engineering, immunology and other fields. It is an indispensable instrument for centrifugation at all levels of hospitals, research institutes and universities.
